The drive train on the iX appears to be pretty bulletproof -- no inherent problems. Of course, fluid changes are important every 36K miles -- ATF in the transfer case and hypoid SAE90 (GL-5) gear oil in the front and rear differential. The viscous coupling units do not require any service.

Because of the shape and mounting of the front calipers on the iX, stock wheels for the ordinary 325 models and aftermarket 325 wheels will not fit on an iX -- make sure that you buy wheels that are known to fit on an iX.

On some early E30 models, the brake lining warning light flashes intermittently. This is usually caused by a broken printed circuit board wire or solder joint on the instrument cluster board.

 

ce inseamna brake lining? am vazut ieri la intalnire eroarea asta pe bordul masinii unui membru :)

Two "limited-slip" Ferguson-type viscous couplings are fitted on the 325iX. These

 

vreau sa vad si pozele din articolul asta. au scheme explodate ?

 

citeste atent, acolo iti zice sa schimbi uleiul in diferential si in transfer case; "viscocuplajele" alea sint sigilate si se afla unul IN diferential si altul IN cutia de transfer. iti caut schema explodata de la caseta de transfer ca sa vezi mai clar.

 

"brake lining" inseamna ca ti s-au tocit placutele si s-a activat (i.e. rupt) senzorul de uzura. de obicei la masinile vechi iese mufa sau se oxideaza un contact si iti da alarma falsa.

nu sunt pe tel mai.. :) oricum mi-am luat pda, de acum nu mai intru de pe tel.. decat pe messenger ca de pe pda e mai greu sa scrii :blink:
