ideea este sa-l schimbi daca este obosit, nu se desfunda in nici un fel, si chiar daca reusesti cumva sa-l desfunzi nu mai are eficienta, deci nu-si mai face treaba pentru care a fost pus acolo!

pentru un test se poate taia pe jumatate catalizatorul, se scoate 'miezul', si se sudeaza la loc.

a doua sonda lambda, daca exista, se ridica cu ajutorul unei bucsi, pentru a nu sta in fluxul de gaze de esapament, altfel da eroare, prima sonda ramane la locul ei.
